Tonen der Cyanotypie mit Holzasche

Eine Cyanotypie mit Holzasche gebleicht und gelb getont.
Es wird kälter – und man wirft den Ofen an. Nun hatten unsere Vorfahren in der Steinzeit den Baumpilz in eine Lösung aus Holzasche gelegt und auf diese Weise erst als Zunderschwamm verwendbar gemacht. Da wirkt etwas.

Also ein kleiner Versuch:
Eine ältere, kleine Cyanotypie (18×28 cm), die ich auf Nessel belichtet hatte, habe ich angefeuchtet und Holzasche aufgebracht. Nach einer Stunde abgewaschen – und die Cyanotypie war an diesen Stellen ausgebleicht und gelb geworden.

Mit etwas Phantasie sieht man Salome mit einer Schürze, den Kopf von Johannes auf dem Tablett präsentierend ;-)

It’s getting colder – and you turn on the stove. In the Stone Age, our ancestors placed the tree fungus in a solution of wood ash and in this way made it usable as a tinder fungus. Something works there.
 
So a little try:
I moistened an older, small cyanotype (18×28 cm) that I had exposed on nettle and applied wood ash. Washed off after an hour – and the cyanotype had faded and turned yellow in these parts.
 
With a little imagination you can see Salome with an apron presenting the head of Johannes on the tray ;-)
